The opening day of Corporate Jet Investor Dubai 2025 commenced with a compelling panel that will spark a discussion on the the future of Business Aviation. During the session entitled “The Golden Age of Business Aviation,” Mira Aviation CEO Mr. Candaş Erkan Özdoğu delivered an impactful presentation, integrating global aviation trends with up-to-date market data from Turkey to present a thorough analysis of the industry’s current landscape and future direction.
In his presentation, Özdoğu underscored a 15% increase in global business jet activity compared to 2019. However, he challenged industry stakeholders to consider whether this growth is underpinned by sustainable fundamentals or merely reflects transient momentum. Turning to the Turkish market, he pointed to a notable 40% surge in jet traffic since 2021, highlighting Istanbul and Bodrum’s rapid emergence as prominent regional aviation hubs.
In addressing the sector’s evolving challenges amidst this rapid expansion, Özdoğu identified several critical pressure points: inadequate infrastructure, a global shortage of qualified pilots and maintenance professionals, intensifying sustainability imperatives, and the pressing demand for fleet modernization. He also highlighted Turkey’s strategic geographical positioning at the crossroads of Europe, the Middle East, and the Caucasus, which is propelling its rise as a key aviation hub. Furthermore, he noted the increasing participation of new market entrants, particularly from the technology, logistics, and family office segments.
Reaffirming Mira Aviation’s market leadership, Özdoğu spotlighted the company’s dominance in pre-owned aircraft transactions, its rapidly growing charter fleet, and bespoke advisory services tailored to first-time aircraft buyers. He concluded by stressing that this so-called “golden age” can only be sustained through strategic, intelligent growth initiatives.
